| Lewis Deaton holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from Davidson College and a Master of Music Degree in Organ Performance from The Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University. His organ teachers include Wilmer Hayden Welsh, Cherry Rhodes, Donald Sutherland, and Calvin Hampton.
He has performed numerous solo organ recitals during his career, and has served as organist/choirmaster for churches in New York City, Baltimore, and North Carolina. In New York he has also appeared in the off-off-Broadway theatre as a music director and actor, and has recorded organ works for cinematic soundtracks. Additional recording credits include two CDs of works for organ and piano.
Following a successful career in advertising in New York, Lewis now resides in Davidson, where he is co-owner of a marketing company.
