Reverend Richard Hoffarth II

The Reverend Rick Hoffarth has served as Senior Pastor of Derita Church since November of 2004. He sees the church as the body of Christ in a changing neighborhood, community, and world. The church’s vision is to reach out to the community and welcome neighbors to join the church’s worship and mission.

Pastor Rick is a native of Illinois and has earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Sciences from Illinois State University in 1979. After graduation he served as a juvenile probation officer. He earned a Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary in 1984 and has since served in churches in Illinois, Tennessee, and North Carolina.

For the past 16 years Pastor Rick has been involved in cycling. He has led teen mountain bike adventure camps in Tennessee and North Carolina. For the past three years he has competed in the Just Fresh-Clif Bar Cycling Team.

Pastor Rick and his wife Nancy have been married for 26 years. They have three children Katie, Will, and Sheri.
